About Multicultural Greek Council

 

The Multicultural Greek Council at the University of Georgia is an umbrella organization for 12 multicultural Greek-letter organizations:

Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., Lambda Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity, Inc., Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc., Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity Inc., Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Inc., Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Eta Sorority, Inc., Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc., Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Sigma Rho Sorority, Inc., and Xi Kappa Fraternity, Inc.

 

Our motto is "Unity through Diversity" because we have built a support system based on celebrating our differences and connecting through our common goals of brother/sisterhood and cultural advocacy. Our purpose is to:

 

• Foster scholastic achievements and leadership.

• Promote community service and awareness in the Athens community.

• Provide resources and support to the members of our multicultural fraternities and sororities. 

• Offer a forum for discussion and to develop strategies regarding issues relevant to the MGC community.

 

MGC serves as a liaison to both the larger Greek community and the University of Georgia as whole. It is an honor for us to serve the Athens community through service projects such as this 5K.
